Street windows in Bordeaux are part of the public face of a building. We style sills and shallow shelves so passers-by see greenery while shutters, security bars, and historic glass still do their jobs.

Sill depth on Cours de l'Intendance
Classical façades often offer only a hand’s width of sill. We use low trays, clipped herbs, and trailing stems that fall inside the glass rather than pots that tip when shutters swing.
Where double windows open inward, every vessel is measured against the swing arc before it leaves the studio.
Colour against pale limestone
Soft greens and dusty foliage read better than neon blooms against Bordeaux stone. We reserve brighter petals for interior tables so the street composition stays calm through market weeks.
A single-window composition with vessel and planting typically ranges from €160 to €340 depending on ceramic choice.

Night glow without lamp heat
Some clients want greenery visible after dusk. We place reflective trays and pale gravel to catch existing room light rather than clipping grow lamps to historic frames.
If a building forbids exterior boxes, we keep the entire display inside the glass and document that choice for the syndic.
Seasonal swaps without new furniture
Spring herbs give way to summer trailing greens, then to dried stems in autumn using the same tray footprint. Clients on a retainer receive two window swaps per year within the monthly fee.
Shared façades and neighbour courtesy
When several flats share a street rhythm, we keep heights consistent so one balcony jungle does not shade another. A short building walk-through is included when three or more neighbours commission together.
